Introduction
Decoding European Creative Skills project grants 15 young designers during 2 months to travel to Eindhoven, Salzburg, and Barcelona to carry out internships in 15 European companies.
This activity aims to promote the career development for 15 European designers selected amongst the professionals taking part in the Creative Challenges. Through this residences 15 companies will experience first-hand how can creative processes have a positive impact on their competitiveness. In this way, this activity will contribute to raising the interest of European companies for design.

Thomas van de Moosdijk

As a designer, Thomas van de Moosdijk find himself very much interested in the way we tangibly interact with technology. As this is a very broad field, He is interested in a specific part of tangible interaction: the influence of tangible interaction on creativity; focused on music creation. For a few years, He has been making music electronically on his laptop, but he founds that turning virtual knobs with a mouse hampered his creativity. Therefore, he would like to use both hands and think physically. For instance, he has been working on a prototype of a midi controller which has all of the knobs of a specific virtual instrument, which are mapped to their virtual counterparts. By doing this, he is interested in what way having one knob with one corresponding function influences someone’s ability to be creative (to try out a lot of different, unique and valuable options).
