Results

Within the framework of the Decoding European Creative Skills project, three creative Challenge are organized in each of the partner universities.

The third creative challenge took place in Eindhoven (Netherlands) from 09/04-13/04 2018. Six interdisciplinary teams of 5 design students and a senior designer worked on three challenges set by local companies. It was a week of intense creative activity where new ideas and opportunities were presented facing the challenges exposed by companies while reflecting on the creative competences that were be put into practice.

The companies that took part in the Creative Challenge Eindhoven are:

  • Studio Tast consists of a young multidisciplinary team. They see an important role for designers in education, based on the current technological developments. It is their task to bridge the gap between existing learning materials and future possibilities. Studio Tast is specialising on the intersection between technology, design and people. That’s how they are creating an inspiring learning environment fitting the perception of current and future generations in a continuously changing society.
  • Eindhoven Airport is the airport located 7.6 km west of Eindhoven, Netherlands. In terms of the number of served passengers it is the second largest airport in the Netherlands. Eindhoven Airport connects Brainport to Europe and the rest of the world and makes the region internationally accessible. The airport has a positive impact on the business climate and plays a crucial role in enabling the region to achieve its ambitions. Speed and the total airport experience are its added values.
  • De Effenaar is a pop up venue in the center of Eindhoven. It has existed since 1971 and has become one of the larger pop up venues in the Netherlands. De Effenaar has a large hall, with a capacity of 1300 people, is meant for larger bands / acts, and a small hall (400 people) that is suitable for smaller and/or regional bands. Many great national and international names have played over the years, such as: The Ramones, The Cure, Joy Division, Sex Pistols, Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., Queens of the Stone Age and Lil Wayne.
